While many events took a 2-year hiatus due to the pandemic, Harold is happy to see the return of the desert’s many fundraisers that strengthen our community.
Here’s a roundup of three events that Harold helped sponsor in March.
On March 10th, Desert Arc hosted its fourth annual Champions of Change Recognition awards luncheon honoring locals who further Desert Arc’s mission of helping disabled individuals in the Coachella Valley/Morongo Basin. The luncheon, hosted at Agua Caliente Casino Resort Spa in Rancho Mirage, raised an impressive $75,000 to benefit Desert Arc’s programs and services. This year’s event came after a two-year pause.
The following day, on March 11th, ski champion Lindsey Vonn headlined the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center’s 2022 Champions Honors luncheon at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa. Former NBC Sports and National Football League correspondent Alex Flanagan interviewed the Olympian with a series of questions in front of the guests. This was the Barbara Sinatra Foundation’s 35th year, following the same two-year hiatus as the Champions of Change Recognition Awards. The organization is dedicated to eradicating child abuse and working with victims to overcome their injuries and trauma.
Finally, on March 31st the College of the Desert Foundation presented Stepping Out for COD. The event raised $400,000 for nearly 500 students throughout the pandemic through the Fund for Student Success. Proceeds benefit the student emergency fund, help kids purchase textbooks, provide meal cards for food insecure students, purchase graduation regalia, support childcare tuition, fund veteran support services and meet the basic needs of foster youth students.
Harold would like to thank all of the amazing donors who joined him in sponsoring these events!
