Palm Springs International Film Society Receives Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

The Palm Springs International Film Festival’s Immediate Past Chairman Harold Matzner is pleased to celebrate that The Palm Springs International Film Society has been awarded a grant by the National Endowment for the Arts.

The $25,000 grant will support both the Film Festival and ShortFest as they continue to uphold cinematic endeavors of US and international artists. The Grants for Art Projects award will be instrumental in programs such as Student Screening Day, which brings Coachella Valley high school students to film screenings and panel discussions with the filmmakers.

“Projects like the Palm Springs International Film Festival and Palm Springs International ShortFest exemplify the creativity and care with which communities are telling their stories, creating connection, and responding to challenges and opportunities in their communities—all through the arts,” NEA Chair Maria Rosario Jackson, PhD told KESQ. “So many aspects of our communities such as cultural vitality, health and wellbeing, infrastructure, and the economy are advanced and improved through investments in art and design, and the National Endowment for the Arts is committed to ensuring people across the country benefit.”
