The Palm Springs International Film Festival Boosts the Coachella Valley Economy and Local Businesses

Not only do the Palm Springs International Film Festival and Awards Gala bring culture, celebrities, and the film industry to the Coachella Valley every January, but it also brings in a surge for the local economy. 

Each year, the Palm Springs International Film Festival brings in millions of dollars of revenue for local businesses as thousands of attendees descend upon the valley for the event. According to an Arts and Economic Prosperity Study, the nonprofit arts and culture organizations of Coachella Valley generated $110 million in economic activity in 2023. 

Shannon Brown, the owner of the Pink Palm boutique said, “It’s just an influx of people from all over the world, and the town gets very busy. There’s a buzz everywhere and it’s very fun. The amount of people that come through the store and are on the streets – it increases substantially.”
