The 2024 Awards Season started in Palm Springs and ended at the Oscars. Over the past few months, we have watched our 2024 Awards recipients and presenters receive statue after statue as they complete the Awards Season circuit.
Additionally, the Palm Springs International Film Festival proved yet again to be the place to preview International and Documentary films that will make a splash throughout Awards Season. The Oscar winners for Best Documentary 20 Days in Mariupol and Best International Film The Zone of Interest both screened at this year’s festival, along with nominees Four Daughters, To Kill a Tiger, Io Capitano, Society of Snow, The Teacher’s Lounge, and Perfect Days. Palm Springs awarded FIPRESCI: Best International Film to Four Daughters, FIPRESCI: Best Actress in an International Film to Leonie Benesch for The Teacher’s Lounge, and FIPRESCI: Best International Screenplay to Jonathan Glazer for The Zone Of Interest.
Harold Matzner and the entire team from the Palm Springs International Film Awards Gala would like to congratulate the PSIFF 2024 Film Awards and Festival honorees who also won Oscars this year!
