Three four-year seats are up for grabs in the Rancho Mirage City Council election, with incumbents Dana Hobart, Charles Townsend, and Iris Smotrich facing newcomers Kate Spates, Bob Mueller, and Michael Harrington. Among some of the more hotly-debated topics of this election were the CV Link, the city’s reserve funds, and business incentives. The election will be decided via mail-in ballots.
Spates and Hobart are among the better-financed of the bunch, with Spates pulling in $52,000 and Hobart pulling in $38,570 from donations from the likes of businessman and philanthropist Harold Matzner.
